Arrivé à Bahreïn pour la 2e et dernière épreuve du Championnat du Monde KF, Dorian pointait à la 9e position du classement provisoire. Il savait qu'il allait avoir fort à faire pour atteindre le podium final, mais pensait se consoler avec un bon résultat, et pourquoi pas une victoire.
Parti tout de suite à fond, il obtenait tout d'abord la pole position des essais chronométrés, malgré des écarts extrêmement serrés. Les manches qualificatives se déroulaient sans encombre pour le pilote Energy Corse et il conservait la tête au classement intermédiaire grâce à une victoire et deux secondes places. La tension montait ensuite chez tous les participants à l'approche des phases finales.
Le, mauvais, tournant de la compétition a eu lieu pour Dorian dès le 4e tour de la préfinale quand il se faisait tacler par un adversaire et chutait en 5e position. C'était encore pire lors de la finale puisqu'il était bousculé au 2e passage et se retrouvait 16e, en même temps que ses espoirs s'envolaient. Il ne désunissait pourtant pas et reprenait du terrain jusqu'à la 7e place, sans parvenir à rejoindre le groupe de tête d'une course très agitée.
« Je ne peux pas cacher que je suis déçu du résultat de cette épreuve. » expliquait Dorian après coup. «J'étais vraiment rapide, je n'ai pas connu d'ennui pendant les manches, mais je pense qu'il y a à redire sur les déroulement des deux courses. Je n'ai pas grand chose à me reprocher, même si j'espérais mieux qu'une 9e position au Championnat du Monde pour ma dernière course en karting... »
Dorian va en effet se tourner maintenant vers la monoplace pour poursuivre une carrière qui promet d'être passionnante à suivre dès la saison prochaine.

Dorian Boccolacci moved to Bahrain for the second and last round of the World KF Championship, holding the 9th place in provisional standings. He knew it would be difficult to mount onto the final podium, but he thought he could at least ensure a good result, or even a victory.
He started strong right away and conquered the pole position in timed qualifying, despite very close times. The qualifying heats went smoothly for the Energy Corse driver and he kept the intermediate standings leadership thanks to a victory and two second places. Then tension rose among all the participants as the final phases approached.
For Dorian, competition took a bad turn on the fourth lap of the pre-final, when he was tackled by an opponent and slipped to 5th place. His situation got even worse in the final race, when he was bumped into on the second lap and dropped down to 16th, and all his hopes vanished. But he did not give up and managed to regain some group up to 7th place, though he could not reach the lead group in a very nervous race.
"It is true, I am disappointed with the result of this meeting" Dorian commented later. "I was really fast, everything went smoothly during the heats, but there were a few things that went wrong during the two races. I have not much to reproach myself with, though I hoped to do better than a 9th place in the World Championship for my last race in karting ..."
Indeed, next season Dorian will turn to single-seaters, to continue a career that promises to be very exciting to follow.
