Now renamed Red Bull Ring, the Austrian Spielberg circuit and its 4326 m did not bring all the satisfaction hoped for by Dorian Boccolacci at the fourth round of the FR 2.0 Eurocup. The Tech 1 Racing driver faced several setbacks that prevented him from being among the best when his performance was very much there. However, the fighting spirit of the young French hopeful allows him to learn from the event and come away even more motivated for the next competition.

"Qualifying is still the crucial issue of these races," said Dorian. "On Saturday, the session was interrupted when a competitor went off when we planned to give the maximum. Without that, I think 2nd place was possible. On Sunday, the car slightly lacked speed with new tyres and I couldn't have aimed for pole position."

6th on the starting grid for Race 1, Dorian got trapped on the first lap and made a mistake by attacking a little hard to get out of the pack. He didn't lose too much time and launched into a great recovery with the fastest lap in the race to 7th position on the finish line. His efforts were unfortunately destroyed by a penalty of 10'' for exceeding the track limits, which seemed unjustified.

Scarred by his misfortune in Race 1, Dorian admitted to being a little too confident on the first lap of the second race on Sunday from 5th position. "The balance is not always easy to find. I have a hot temper and prudence is not in my genes. Managing this kind of situation is one of my next goals." He then came back with a real edge from 7th to 4th position in the wheeltracks of the championship leader, but could not overtake despite greater speed.

Now 4th in the standings of the Eurocup, Dorian shares a huge motivation with his team for the next races. He will return on the last weekend in July at the Spa Francorchamps circuit which he likes, at the fourth round of the Northern European Cup.
