As the season moves towards the halfway point, Dorian Boccolacci and Tech 1 Racing have erased the bad memories of the Hungaroring through a constant presence in the top three at the third meeting of the FR 2.0 Eurocup on the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. With two pole positions, two fastest laps, three podiums and a victory, the result is flattering and allows Dorian to move up to 3rd in the standings.

Also consistent since the early season, Dorian Boccolacci has never been content with podium positions. Race after race, the collaboration with Tech 1 Racing is becoming more successful and the hard work of the team and driver records steady growth. For the second race of the year at Monza, testing, practice and qualifying showed greater efficiency at all levels. Dorian achieved his first pole position in the Eurocup during the first qualifying session, and the 2nd fastest time in the next, before concluding with another pole position on Sunday morning.

"Free practice went well, finishing 2nd twice. It is quite positive to be in front early in the weekend. We continued to work with the team to confirm this in qualifying. You rely on slipstreaming at this track, but anticipating and taking advantage remains difficult. My two pole positions this weekend mark clear progress."

Lando Norris had the best start in Race 1. Dorian was not left behind and even attempted an attack. "It was a little difficult to follow in the fast corners with slipstreaming, but I was able to maintain pressure throughout the race, while posting the fastest lap. I spoke with my engineer for Race 2 and we established a new strategy that has paid off."

The roles were indeed reversed in Race 2. Norris took the lead at the first corner, Dorian attacked shortly after and the Briton replied in turn, but it ended with Dorian definitively taking control and he flew to victory with a comfortable lead of nearly 2'' on Max Defourny.

Again the fastest in timed qualifying on Sunday morning, Dorian couldn't benefit from pole position to start Race 3. "My clutch slipped when the lights went out. I think the temperature was a bit high. I lost time in trying to pass Scott in the early laps. I ended up 5th as my pace was also excellent. I probably had the car to win." He ended up in 3rd place this time with another fastest lap.

"The weekend has been extremely positive," says Simon Abadie, Team Manager of Tech 1 Racing. "Dorian had an excellent meeting and showed superb skills with his two poles. We had the potential to win the three races, but we know that at Monza, even before starting, it's complicated by the slipstream. He finished the three races on the podium and scored huge points in these conditions. Congratulations to him."

Dorian will be back on track next week at the Red Bull Ring (15th-17th July) for the fourth meeting of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, with new goals.
